I'm Back!

Well, we have been home for 2 days now, and I am still knee deep in sandy clothes. I am getting them washed as quickly as possible, but yuck! This is the part I hate about going to the beach. I just can't seem to get the sand out of anything. But at this point washing a week's worth of clothes is the least of my worries, there is soooo much to do before school starts! We officially have 2 weeks and I am now feeling the pressure to tie up loose ends, organize, shop, etc...you know what I mean.

My scrapbook stuff is also keeping me pretty busy...I have the best news! Last month I sent in several layouts to Scrap Street Magazine, just hoping to get one published. Instead of one, I have found out that there will be many published over the next couple of months...cool huh? This month I am being featured in the Discovery Drive article. This article features a new designer every month highlighting their style, layouts, and just general info, and did I mention that this month it is ME!!! Lindsey Krauss "discovered" me and she just had the nicest things to say. Go take a look HERE to see the article, but you should really check out the magazine. It is totally free and FULL of inspiration!

Also, Sketch #31 is posted at 52 sketches...52 weeks! And if you like circles, you will love this sketch. Take a look!
Cute huh? And here is my take on the sketch...

"I {love} 2 d@nce"
This was actually a pretty easy sketch to complete! I basically used it as is, and that does not really happen for me often. I made a lot of the embellishments you see on the layout. For instance, the blue circle is an old piece of Love, Elsie fabric paper. I peeled the the cardstock off of the back and was just left with the fabric. I gathered the fabric and machine stitched in the center of it. I just love the way it turned out. I even covered the chipboard hearts with music paper using my Elmer's EXACT-O knife with great precision. The BIG, pink letters are old Pressed Petals Chip Chatter letters. I painted them using my Elmer's Paint Pens and outlined each...LOVE IT! Well, there ya go...a pretty, sassy, dance layout! Don't forget you have until Sunday of next week to complete Sketch #31 for a fabulous prize.

Like I said, I have lots of scrappy news this week, so check back...I believe I see a give away in the future...Hhhmmmm?

Happy Sunday!
