Paper Poppy's October Kit
I'm not sure if you have purchased any Fall scrappy goodies for yourself, but the October kit at Paper Poppy would be just perfect! As far as patterned paper, there is a mix of Lily Bee's Catching Fall and Pink Paislee's Old School...a match made in heaven! Here is a look at my layouts so far for this month...

This layout was inspired by Aphra's October Sketch and the montly challenge to use a number in your title. You can check out the details HERE. All of our 1st weeks layouts are being featured right now at the Lily Bee blog...thanks Kristen!!

This layout is all about some Pink Paislee Old School, but you really cannot even tell that the collection is focused on school by glancing at this layout. It is a mix of warm greens, golds, reds, and blues...perfect for FALL!! The layout was inspired by a sketch by the super fab Susan Stringfellow. She is truly an inspiring crafter...you can check her out HERE.

We're Celebrating at the Paper Poppy!!
Hello! Wow, things have been busy, but I still have time to celebrate World Card Day with my Paper Poppy peeps! Yes, there is such a thing...It is actually a holiday especially for card makers around the world to celebrate the creativity of handmade cards and the personal connection that they create between friends and family....sweet huh? And here is my contribution...
Well, finally I used that doily!! I have been trying to use this doily all month, and I finally did it! Isn't that just the sweetest flower? I just misted it, cut out the center, and glued it down in a circle with glue-dots...easy!! I also made a button out of the vintage milk cap...love that!!
We are actually having a little contest in celebration of World Card Day at the Paper Poppy! You can check out the details HERE.
Hope you join us...see ya soon!!

So, I Don't Have a Favorite!
This week at the Paper Poppy blog we are supposed to choose a favorite product from this month's kit and chat about it. Well, I am NOT following the rules...I'm a rebel...yep, I know it...I CHOOSE EVERYTHING!! Every product is my favorite this month! Here is a look at my layout highlighting ALL of my most favorite products.
I am not a chickie that tends to mix lines of patterned paper, but I did love the way the Sassafras and Jenny Bowlin mixed this month. For me, the distress-ish feel of both of the lines worked! And as you know, I love to outline and doodle. I used the Brilliance Cosmic Copper Chalk from the add-on kit to outline the edges, and used a copper pen from my stash to doodle around the edges of my cardstock and patterned paper. It was a nice change from the brown and black that I usually use!
Ok, can we have a moment of silence for the fabulous designers who created that fabulous yellow butterfly....gracious me they are super talented folk! I love, love that butterfly! I added the Jenni Bowlin buttons and pins to dress it up a bit...love it!
And how about those AC Felt Flowers? Yummo!! I also cut the leaves from the vintage dictionary paper in the kit and chalked the edges olive...I love foliage!
Summer Girl
Thanks for stoppin' by to check out my vast array of favorites! There are still a few kits available in the Paper Poppy store if you would like one. You can get yours HERE. Chat soon!!

Still Lovin' Some September Paper Poppy!!
Hey there! Yep, like I said still lovin' the September Paper Poppy kit! And this past week I was able to do a beach layout, which was intended for this kit. Take a look...

The paper in this kit reminds me of a quilt my grandmother used to have over her couch, and I am automatically inspired to put as much as I can on my layout...kinda like a patchwork. Ok, lets go ahead and address the Jenni Bowlin Bingo Cards...I chopped them into shreads...yes, yes I did! Let me just say that I love JB Bingo Cards, I do, but I have had 25 or so in my time. I am a bit bored with having them peek out of a cluster, covering a chipboard button or two, or using the word in a title...I have done it all before! And there the idea to chop them to pieces was born. After I cut them, I inked them to give them a more distressed look, and lined my layout with them like a frame! I tried to let the doodling go, but you can plainly see, I didn't! I guess somethings will never change...LOL!!
Last week was very inspiring at the Paper Poppy blog. Hello??? Suzanne Sergi is Guest Designing!!!! You can check it out HERE! Hope you had a great weekend, and see ya soon with my weekend projects! Tootles!!
The Little Things
As I mentioned before, I am enjoying where this kit is taking me creatively. For instance, the strip at the bottom of the pic...I simply crumbled the tickets to make them easier to scrunch! I then scrunched and stapled...scrunched and stapled. Only to find that I did not like the staples! I took a piece of scrap ribbon, tied a knot, and glued it down...problem solved!!

September with Paper Poppy!!
Hi there! Hope you had a wonderful weekend...we sure did. The weekend was spent tidying up around the house, laundry, a date with my hubby, and a little softball...can't beat that!! Don't ya just love those sorts of weekends? I did manage to get a bit of scrapping done...so, check that off of the list too! I don't know about you, but I am not believing that it is already September!! It's time for the weather to change, ESPN 24-7 at my house, and no more white pants!! If I would have realized that, I would have gotten one last good wear out of my white, Banana Republic, ankle pants...I love them! And now it's to the back of the closet for them babies!!
Since it is September, there is a new kit at Paper Poppy, and I love it...again. Take a look...

This month the sketch and challenge are combined...love that! The challenge is to use strips on your layout, and how accomodating...Aphra included strips on the sketch!! And to make it even easier, the add-on includes the coordinating Indie Girl Paper Edges...gotta love that!!

It is heavenly! If you think you may need one of these beauties, you can get one HERE.
There is also a cute September sketch designed by Aphra and a challenge...

My August fave at Paper Poppy is...
...the American Crafts Fruit Salad Dimensional Stickers!!!
Aren't these little diddies just the cutest? And I think they could be used for more than a juicing layout, right? Since it is 10, 000 degrees during the summer in good ole Louisiana, you can only imagine just how many pictures of my family I have by the pool, in the pool, on the pool...ok maybe not, but there are lots of pool pictures! I thought that the AC stickers screamed summer. So why not use them on a pool layout? Take a look...
Beat the Heat
I am sure enjoying this kit, and if you don't have one...you are missing out! You can still purchase a kit HERE.
Hope you are having a great day...Tootles!!

It's the Simple Things!
It is challenge week at the Paper Poppy, and Aphra's August kit is just perfect for it! The kit is full of fun colors, fruity embellishments, and yummy patterns...all screaming S-U-M-M-E-R!!!! The challenge...scrap whatever it is you love about SUMMER!! This one is a breeze for me because as soon as that very last bell rings in May, we start celebrating summer at our house. But with 4 kiddos in tow, I have to really choose our outings carefully. One of our most favorite outings in the summer is to the park. It is secluded, few people, TONS of space, and it is safe to let my kids roam. Well on this particular summer day, while 3 of my 4 kids played on the jungle gym, my darling Vivi picked up sweet gum balls and had the best time. I can just remember thinking how she just passed the time doing something so simple, and loved it. She just tickled me because as she picked up the balls and put them in her cup, she would accidentally dump the balls in the cup on the ground. And there, the process would start over...cute, huh? Here is a look at my layout capturing this sweet summer memory...
I have decided that every one of my doubles look the same. I love to have a focal picture and just line the rest of the pictures down the page...oh well, it works! Of course I used tons more of the DeLovely Collection by Cosmo Cricket. It was just perfect for Vivi's turquoise jumper. Do you see the hot pink border around the layout? I created it by cutting down 2 pieces of cardstock and misting the edges with the pink Maya Mist. I stitched around the misted border to give it a more homespun look....I just love the way it turned out!! Here are a few close-ups...

Good gracious me that chipboard...it is a girl's best friend! It is just begging to be stacked, and who am I not to oblige...so I stacked!! I also added the sweet American Crafts brads to the centers...perfect.
Sure hope you are getting some scrapping done this summer. And if you are not in the mood, this kit could sure do it!! Thanks for stopping by...tootles!!

Oooooo it's Yummy!
I am in absolute love with the August Paper Poppy kit! It is full of Cosmo Cricket's DeLovely and Jillibean Soup's Summer Squash...It is, it is...so yummy, bright, pretty, and summery. Take a look at the August sketch...
Here is a look at my August Sketch layout...
See yummy, huh? Those colors are just beautiful, and with 3 girls I have tons of pictures to coordinate with this line! For these sweet pics of my 2nd daughter's birthday, I decided to make a juicy, strawberry to tie in the title. Here are a few close-ups...

With the chipboard and the stickers, I am inclined to stack. This layout is just the tip of the iceberg. My next layout includes lots of stacking. For this layout I stacked patterned paper, cardstock, cardstock stickers, and the American Crafts brads to create this...
If you are interested in having one of these **lovely kits, you can get one HERE. You better hurry because I think there are only a few left. Thanks for stopping by!!

Whop-Bam-Boom!!
Well hey there...again! It is product week at the Paper Poppy, where we share our most favorite product in the present kit. And hands down, my favorite product in the July kit is the ginormous bottle caps by Maya Road. Here is a look at how I used the bottle caps...
Basically, I just took a hammer and beat the ever lovin' bejesus out of it!! There is no art to it...no "make sure you hit the sides to make it lay right"...nothing!!! You just take a hammer and pound it till the sides flare out, hence "Whop-Bam-Boom!" Here are a few close-ups...

I just love the way the bottle caps add a little variation to my predictable cluster of flowers. I plummeted the bottle cap, which by now you are fully aware of, punched a few circle shapes out of patterned paper, added an Evalicious flower, and stuck the entire thing down with a glue dot...E-A-S-Y!!!
And one more thing...don't ya just love it when a title works out as well as this one? The title "No.3" is from one of the cards on Cosmo Cricket's patterned paper, and it just so happens that my Vivi is the 3rd in line...love that!!!
There are still a few July kits available in the Paper Poppy store HERE. It is really a good one. I mean who would have guessed that a kit would allow you to scrapbook your family memories and let out some pinned up aggression? Also wanted to remind you that we are hosting 2 challenges this month. You can check them out in the sidebar of the blog HERE. And it is getting close!! The August kit is set to debut in a couple of weeks and it is amazing...no, it's delovely!! I'm just sayin'. ;)
Have a great day!!
